Abstract

Sociale netværkssider som Facebook og Twitter er blevet en fast del af politikernes kommunikationskanaler. I takt med at flere politikere har taget platformene i brug, er journalister begyndt at monitorere platformene for nyhedsscoops, hvilket har skabt en ny kilde til den politiske journalistik: politikernes opdateringer. Formålet med denne artikel er at belyse de iboende og ikke-observerbare dynamikker i samspillet mellem politikere og journalister i en medieøkologi præget af nyere platforme som Facebook og Twitter. Hermed adskiller artiklen sig fra den eksisterende litteratur ved at fokusere på perioden mellem valgkamp, i et longitudinalt perspektiv. Artiklen anvender metodetriangulering bestående af kvantitativ indholdsanalyse, interviews og en kvalitativ læsning af politikernes aktivitet på sociale netværkssider. Analysen viser, at inddragelsen af sociale netværkssider i nyhedsdækningen medfører nye konturer i den politiske kommunikation, hvormed politikerne på én og samme tid får mere kontrol over eget budskab og afgiver samme kontrol grundet platformenes umiddelbarhed og interaktivitet.
